Our Mission:

Providence Hall exists to Cultivate a Hospitable Community of Christian Learning, Creation, Work, and Love of Neighbor serving Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design.

Rooted in the gospel and person of Jesus Christ, goodness of creation, truth and authority of the Scriptures, and riches of the Christian traditions, we seek to nurture lives of thoughtful vocation, generous hospitality, artistic endeavor, scholarly achievement, service in the Kingdom, and comprehensive vision befitting images of God.

We are a place to make friends, deepen relationships in Christ, and, crucially, a place to equip students toward a coherence of thought, life, and faith—to think, to create, to work, and to govern and neighbor as Christians.

We aim to secure a house adjacent to both Brown and RISD as soon as possible to develop and host theological and great text, artistic, vocational, and civic ministries and serve as a “third place” for Christian life, including office and meeting space for campus ministers.
